Nationwide FlexDirect & saving

I have money to save. I want to take advantage of the Nationwide's FlexDirect account. I have more than £2500. What's the best way to make the most out of my savings?

Open a FlexDirect.  Now.  before the rate drops on 1st May.  Put 2500 in it.  Fulfil the conditions (paying in 1000 a month, which you then take out again).
Anything over 2500.  Look at https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/ and decide what's best for you.

Trying to open one myself. Correspondence with nationwide is as poor as it was a couple of years ago. Is there a simple email address to contact them on? I don't really want to ring up as my enquiry is not important.

Expecting prompt responses from any financial institution to unimportant enquiries is probably ambitious (and understandably so) at the moment, regardless of selected channel - you'll perhaps find that the hive mind of this forum will be able to help if you post your enquiry on here?

I have a question on a similar vein....I would like to take advantage of the 5% for having £2500 in an account but I don't really want to switch from my existing bank. Can I still open a Flex Direct Account just as a stand alone account & transfer monies in & out of it monthly? Forgive my stupidity if it's a dumb question &/or the answer is elsewhere or as plain as the nose on my face!, thanks!

Yes, the 5% isn't conditional on a switch so you can just use it on a standalone basis - don't hang about though, tomorrow's the last day to get one at 5%....

Yes it was a bit of a silly question it would seem. I got a bit further into the application process only to then find I could opt out of  the complete switch.
I'm a bit of a novice with such things & my naivety was rearing it's ugly head!
I've now completed the application & beat the 5% deadline...thankfully!
    Cheers!!

I  changed  my basic flex account  to a flex direct  today  and Im probably going to change our joint  flex  to a direct flex tonight.Read through  everything and couldnt see anything  I couldnt do with  the flexdirect that I couldnt with the basic flex  so seems  a good move . When I tried to fund it with 1k from HSBC  I had a problem though as they wouldnt accept  the  name of the account  as matching the sort and acc no . I tried the   A B  Person  on my NW bank card , and the Mrs A B Person  on my  flex account online acc page,  neither accepted . Rang NW helpline and they suggested I drop the Mrs and try my full name  ie first ,  middle  and surname ( a format Id never used with banking )   and lo and behold it worked!
