Martin's latest advice on dealing with spammers
Martins advice didn't mention spammers.........its Scammers1 -
I too forwarded Spam/Scam Emails on to Report@Phishing.gov.uk and now I have received a Letter from Virgin stating that they had been notified that Spam Emails were coming from a device using my Internet Connection and Warning me that my Service may be Suspended or Cancelled if the problem is not fixed.Well ! Thanks NCSC for reporting this back to Virgin and Thanks ! Virgin for thinking I am a Spammer/Scammer !!.Perhaps Virgin should tighten up their Spam/Scam Filtering in the first place and then I would not be receiving any Spam/Scam Emails.Think AndyPix has the right idea - Just "Delete and Ignore"0

I'm with you all the way there Chris, did exactly the same as you and exactly the same results, no more reporting to NCSC. Just delete them for fear of being my broadband service being suspended or cancelled.0

That being said, there is only one thing that should be done, and it's what Andy said: delete and move on, if you forward it to anyone, nothing's gonna change.
On a separate note, I do spend time replying to scam emails, when I am really really bored. I remember one time I managed to send a guy somewhere in Africa to a Western Union shop that I told him I had sent the money to (I also sent him a fake WU receipt). It took him a while to understand what was going on.0 -
Attaching the email doesn't work as it still contains suspicious web addresses.
The only way to forward it is to 'view source', copy the code into a notepad document, and disable the links by say replacing '.com' with '#com'. Then attach the notepad document to an email with an explanation. Bit of a faff but until Virgin Media take a responsible approach, this is the only way.
I'm still receiving scam emails (not just spam) which Virgin Media happily passes to me but stops me forwarding them.0 -
Not a good idea to use your ISP's email.....A move to GMX, Gmail, Outlook etc. may be beneficial.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
A PIRATE
Not an Alcoholic...!0 -
On MSE email (29.4.20) , there's a new tool in the fight against spam and phishing emails - forwarding them to report@phishing.gov.uk. Sounds like it might be useful, so I, also, tried forwarding two dodgy-looking emails, re my TV Licence, I'd received at my email address, but my email provider, also Virgin Media refused to send it on as 'it contains spam'. My thoughts exactly!! That's why I was forwarding it. I think this is a problem with Virgin Media, as that comment has been repeated several times here. I think I'll report it to Virgin, see what they say!

If you are bored one day have a read through the 419eater.com forum to see what fun they get up to wasting the scammers time.1
