We have amended our Holiday once as we were going to China ! We are now trying to change the October 20 holiday to March 21 due to the fact we are not at work so can’t afford to save up the £3200 balance due in July 20 , we are being sensible and practical changing it now to then hopefully be back at work and time to save up ! The Holiday company now wants to charge us £300 to BA because tickets are already issued for Oct ???
So there slogan no hassle flexible amendments is not true

Company you booked with ?
Flights may not have been flexible , which would have been clear on booking.
The ba flexible booking is for flights booked direct with them ?Ex forum ambassador

Mercury holidays , no knowledge of flights not being flexible as this is a package holiday with Mercury they selected the flights, the holiday is 5 months away , and if the flight never happens as it probably won’t in light of the current situation , they will have our deposit and another £300 charge to change which we won’t get back either0

It depends on the terms of your booking but as the flights are currently still scheduled (being in October) then I would personally consider a fee to change them as quite normal, assuming the tickets have no flexibility.1

The charge is for cancelling the October flights basically , then start again and rebook for March21 I just feel we are giving them more money for a flight that’s lightly to be cancelled in the end anyway ..under normal circumstances I get it because it’s our choice to change , but we only changing because can’t pay balance in July as no work due to covid , ( i would rather be going on holiday than writing on this forum) the company in end are losing a £3800 payment from us and our custom BA are just clawing what ever money back that they can , it’s all just a very upsetting and hassle, they won’t even return call they are avoiding any conversation it’s just a difficult situation ...0

October is still a long way in terms of travelling at the moment. So in theory yes I would expect there to be some charges incurred for wishing to change your flights over at this point.0

We were booked for a holiday in Lanzarote in November this year, but as we care for both our Mother & grandson, we would not have been able to self-isolate for the required 14 days when coming back to the UK. We decided to amend our holiday to November 2021 instead, when hopefuly we will have a vacine for Covid-19. However, we have now been charged an Admin fee on top of the holiday price. Surely these are mitigating circumstances that we can not control. As Holiday companies are going bust by the minute, surely by keeping the sale, its not a good time to charge the customer.0

Alternatively, with holiday companies going bust by the minute, it may be that it's not a good time for them to lose more money.0

Allowing you to cancel and book for next year is more than they need to do. You could have lost your money.0

Are the admin fees in line with what you agreed to when you booked?
