Ahh that is annoying! Well done for checking and taking steps to get the right information associated to you! If I remember correctly when we moved in mine took a hit from the mortgage application, but thankfully my new address was registered quickly so all good.
I checked the other day and was feeling smug on 999, but I expect that to drop once the new mortgage goes on the file, with bigger borrowing. And I need to get into the bank to remove my housemate/ex-joint-homeowner from our joint account so that our financial records are severed (obviously difficult to do when we're both working and banks are only open for a few hours at the moment). I expect that my score will go down a bit when this happens, but hopefully will bounce back should I need to apply for any other lines of credit!1 -

Score of 999?! Hats 🎩 off to you dear! I am just hoping my efforts can increase my score to as near 900 as possible! If ever I get to 999 I will throw a 🥳🎈 🎉 for sure! On the site the only item listed to improve was just the electoral roll issue nothing else was recommended? After buying house I also cleared all credit cards, I had been keeping them on a low balance for the sake of increasing my credit rating as recommended. Could clearing my credit cards be lowering my score too? I do use them in the month for little purchases but pay it to zero at end of month or during the month. How do you manage 999 score?XxInitial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

Enjoying your diary. It is so much fun to read.
Kitchen is on the list before the house is paid for. (And yes, dishwasher and garbage disposals are necessities for me) It's in the middle of the house, no windows but has a door to my bedroom, door to the laundry room, open to the living room and open doorway to the hallway plus a passthrough window to the dining room. So even though it is a decent space 12 x 12, I believe, it's configured so weirdly that there is no room for an island, and I have no pantry. So we will definitely need to remodel. I want spring green cabinets and a tile floor or continued bamboo flooring in the kitchen.
Which brings me to your question of hardwoods or carpets. We installed bamboo flooring in the living, dining, and hallway. And then, of course, they discontinued the line before I could get enough for the kitchen and my bedroom. I will put carpet in the other two rooms and probably tile the bathrooms. So now I have to figure out how best to match what I have with something for my bedroom as I don't want mismatched wood all over the place, and I certainly don't want to rip out what already is installed. The joys of homeownership.
But I guess the whole point is exactly that, joy of homeownership. Yes, it costs money and aggravation sometimes, but knowing it's ours and we can do what we want with it means everything.Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00
Mortgage end date Dec 2045 - NOT!!!!
Mortgage balance - $4600.00
Business Savings $43,310/100k
Hope to be mortgage-free by end of 20231 -

Are you de-linked from your ex-husband on there? If not, his score may be impacting yours too. Hopefully it bounces back soon now the correct address is listed and you're registered to vote there!1 -

Nice if you to drop by!Spring green cabinets sounds like a nice warm colour and I can picture the kitchen looking fab. That’s a pain that the bamboo flooring was no longer available what a pain!? But I guess problem solving comes with the territory of home ownership and we just love our “troubles” don’t we?!

I think you are right about financial links. While married my score was almost sparking but has been gradually going down since I separated and divorced. There was a time he mentioned that his credit score was messed up after we divorced. He said he had some unfortunate financial issues due to to bad decision. He has always had a way of messing finances up but when we were together it was not so bad. After the divorce was finalised we did go round to all banks with joint account to breakup the financial links but with one bank although we did all the paperwork they lost them and had no record( although we physically went to each bank) and so months later I discovered we still had two accounts still in joint names! So I think he is the one bringing my score down. So far I have not been able to arrange with him to go to that particular bank again to remove him from those particular accounts which he did not want and I was keeping. On Experian it also mentioned that I was named on a company listed on company house which I think he has “resurrected” it’s a company which was in both our names and he seems to be using now? 😳 I think that’s where I am having this credit rating problem. I don’t see how my score can be 824 due to just the negative influence of not being on the electoral roll. I have never had any financial issues in my life even now.@f@frankersBri it’s truly going to take me years to cut financial links, the only lucky thing is I don’t need to get a mortgage anymore. For now the score is fair so I have to cope with that! 😡Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

Dear ladies
Please celebrate with me!!!!
Remember a few days ago I was writing very frustrated about my credit score. I was not trying to borrow or anything but it has been bugging me for months as it had gone from good to fair! Well few days ago I paid my subscription on Experian as I really wanted a detailed report of what’s going wrong and advice on how to improve it. Once in I discovered that my only issue and recommendation was that I was not registered to vote on current address and when I went to check current address I discovered I had not updated my address when I bought my house! So well I updated it all and lo and behold like magic my score upgraded to what I expected!Laddies I am so happy now as everything is looking good! Well I guess I need to apologise as looks like Mr Ex was not the cause of low score after all!
