CONNED out of compensation by WIZZ AIR

Options
Wizz air are laying on flights to avoid the pay out of compensation to those abiding by the enforced lock down imposed.
This can't be fair, for a company to cheat people out of their hard earned cash.
How can they get away with this trick.

Don't see how you've been conned? If are flying they don't owe any.

The UK Government still advises against international travel, you should be able to cancel and get your money back, or claim on your insurance.

If not, when are you planning on travelling?

Oh, and they don't need to pay "compensation", simply a refund.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Wizzair would not owe anyone any compensation for cancellations due to Coronavirus as it is an extraordinary circumstance.  I assume you are talking about refunds.  See if your travel insurance covers you.

Of course it's a con! They are flying to countries that won't let any passenger in. Fly out; turn around and back. No one will board the flight, as the company knows full well. Government should step in and stop this nonsense. After this, people will remember how certain companies acted and they won't forget. We won't forget

So these countries are not letting their own citizens back in? 🤔

So you think that to save giving the passengers refunds, they will pay crews, fuel up the plane, fly it empty, then fly it back?  And they are doing this to save money?
  • I booked flights through Expedia which they are telling me to get the refund from Wizz Air and viser versa which I am currently dealing with. Anyway I added extras through the Wizz Air app which was £48 which they have agreed to refund but as it was booked over 120 days ago they are asking for me to send my bank details etc via a protected word document, this is due the EU 679/2016 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),  Is this correct? I am not comfortably in sending my details this way. TIA

If it's just account number and sort code, they're on every cheque you've ever written anyway - sending them is fine.
Just never send card number, 3 security digits etc
