To get back on course to Santa Saver - I was most impressed by Chorley BS.
Posted application form and cheque to them on Monday, got passbok back on Wed and money deducted from current account on Thursday. Why can't they all operate efficiently like them!0 -
Indeed, they are pretty quick.
In sharp contrast with Britannia, who have still not processed my 7.5% Fixed Rate saver after 4 weeks. I rang them a couple of weeks ago and they confirmed that they had received the application, initial deposit cheque and direct debit mandate. Still waiting for the account to be opened. Guess I'll need to ring them again on Monday to chase.0 -

smaller societies like chorley, furness, ipswich etc are very efficient thats why its ashame when some of the small and nice societies get gobbled up.
chorley are very good with email replies as well. :j0 -
I had a Christmas Saver once with Bradford & Bingley. A whopping 10% on £150 for 10 months. On these £1,500 drip-fed into the account I got about £50 interest at the end. Pathetic.
+ u will have received interest on the 1500 while it was waiting to be drip fed into the regular saver.0 -

Yes, it contained my wife's ID, but only a Bank Statement and a letter confirming entitlement to Child Benefit. I didn't fancy sending her passport during the busy Christmas period.0 -

Gonna drop our applications off in person as hubby works in chorley
and we live about 8 miles away and have our own branch here as well. Staff are always very friendly and they even have a "drive through" version.
