Does anyone know for Halifax mortgage if 'plan cover payment' is considered to be ppi?

Halifax issued a policy called Total Mortgage Protection Plan.   This was a multi-segment policy that offered life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection and MPPI.  You could have any one or combination of those segments.

Only the MPPI segment is PPI. The rest is not.

I have made a claim before deadline and received a letter that I didnt get PPI and when I posted and emailled evidence of plan cover payment I have had no reply so of course I have taken it to financial ombudsmen

When you emailed the evidence, was that evidence you had MPPI or just the plan itself?

If the plan was covering say life assurance (which the vast majority do) and not MPPI then you don't have PPI.

If it was 'simply' life or critical illness (which they said I had to have to get mortgage) then why dont they 'simply' just say that

Perhaps because you never asked that?  You say you had PPI.  They say you didnt.

What does anyone expect from the ombudsmen?

When referring your complaint to the FOS, you would have given them details of your complaint.  At some point in the next 12 months, the FOS will contact Halifax giving them a copy of your complaint and the FOS will ask Halifax for a response.  Halifax will check again and if you don't have PPI they will tell the FOS you dont have PPI and the "evidence" is for something else that is not PPI.  The FOS will then tell you that you don't have PPI.

So, you will be waiting for around a year for something that you could either see for yourself is or is not PPI  (the policy schedule for example tells you what you have) or you could ask them what you have (dont rely on email as banks run pretty strong anti-spam filters).

    Thank you reply
This is what I term 'asking for help and getting it' minus the insult..

What has the title got to do with the word I use in how I feel in regards to part of your response?
I use 'insult' because thats how I feel..irrelevant to title of topic. Its insulting because I feel your added comments about 'wasting time'  attempts to belittle people and make them feel stupid..'how could they not think' attitude. Might not be your intention but you dont get to define how someone should feel.
Would it be impossible for you to just stick to replying to the question without added commentary?...whether you think I wasted anyones time is irrelevant to the question.
