Hi there,
I am currently on O2 and I know both these companies use O2.  Which one do people think I should go with on a Sim only deal, as my contact is coming to an end and I can no longer afford to be paying £40 odd a month to upgrade my phone.  I average about 3gb a month on data (my current plan is 25gb).  My phone is iphone 8 plus.
We are Sky customers for BB & SkyQ.
Thanks in advance.

Cant you ask O2 for a sim only deal?  Their 18 month contract  for  4GB is about £11 pm.  Switched one of our phones to Sky a few months back with no problems, just send text to O2 to get PAC and account was closed when PAC code was entered to Sky. Currently 8GB sim is £10 pm, 2GB sim is £6. Lost service for about 1hr.

Tesco came out well in a recent Which survey but Giffgaff (who also use O2) came out even better.

    Sky came out average

Who gives the best coverage for you?
Have you asked Sky what they can offer you for a sim only plan ?
You might not get a quick reply from Sky in the current situation ?
  • I pay £9 a month to Sky for 4 mobile sims each with 2GB. Unlimited calls and texts.

How did you get this deal?

Try calling to obtain your PAC (instead of by SMS), having first found the cheapest deal with any provider that fulfills your needs. Quote this when they ask what you intend moving to. It's likely they will offer you a discounted deal to match it in order to keep you with O2; if not, take your PAC and go.

im with sky and they are fine also you get data roll over which can use if you have heavy data month or money off next time you want to upgrade your phone etc.
i have to use o2 due to reception. but also manage to haggle a deal with sky so worth calling them to see what they can do as you already have sky and bb with them.

Thank you for all your replies - I am going to try and negotiate with O2 to get a good deal.  I have taken EE out of the equation as they are way too expensive.  I need to reduce the cost to a maximum of £10 if possible.   If I can't get any joy with O2, I will try and get a cheaper deal with Sky.  I am particularly interested in the deal 8GB for £8 a month.
