Vaccination and chipping costs? Puppy

Deborah_51 said:Cripes, thank you for your comments. The owners said they would normally have first vaccinations done etc, but as 108th May is a Sunday and she'll be 8 weeks on that day, they won't be able to get her vaccinated. When I spoke to the vet in general terms last week about it, they said gov had ok'd visits for vaccinations. Feeling like the owners are taking advantage.
Possibly YOU need to delay picking her up by whatever period they need in order to get her vaccinated, but that is NOT taking advantage, that is evading responsibility from where I'm sitting ...Signature removed for peace of mind1 -

I'd walk away if the breeders attitude was as described in previous posts.
We picked Tilly up last August, she was 9 weeks old, had 1st injections, flea and wormed and microchipped.
The breeders couldn't have been more helpful throughout the process, first and second viewing of pups and mum was pleasant with the breeders asking as much about our knowledge and history of pet ownership as we did to them.
All done admittedly when restrictions weren't on, but a competent breeder normally has a very good relationship with breeders so booking in injections etc should be no trouble to them at all.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
Unfortunately it's not quite so easy with lockdown- round here vets are doing the chipping etc but either they take the pup in alone or they do it in the carpark.
You have 2 choices here: get the puppy on Sunday and sort out the vaccinations, chipping etc at your own vet asap- but then deduct the costs from the price, or , wait another week and tell breeder that you expect 1st vacc/chp/worming to be in place. One week is not the end of the world when getting a pup.
How well do you know the breeder? Most breeders want the best for their puppies, unless it is a money making exercise.........
My thoughts are that you will not be able to take the pup in any kind of public place before that 1st vaccination (and then you still need to wait until 12 weeks for safety's sake after the 2nd) so I'd be waiting.......
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

There is no need to collect the dog on the day it is 8 weeks old. The 'breeder' is is just trying to save money not having to feed the pup for more days, pay for 1 st vaccination , microchipping and registration.
One of my pups was 10 weeks old when I got her and another was 12 weeks old.
It is now the law that the breeder must microchip the pup and register it in her name first before the registration is transferred to the new owner. What is the breeder saying about that?
I would be very wary of a 'breeder' who has so much disregard for the law and the well being of her puppies or does not know the responsibilities of breeding pups.
Is she a breeder or is this a back yard breeder or joe public who has bred her !!!!!! to make some easy money?
https://www.bluecross.org.uk/pet-advice/microchipping-your-dogOwners who do not get their dog microchipped and registered with an approved database face a fine of up to £500 if caught.
The only exception to this law for pet dogs are those who a vet believes should not be chipped for health reasons..................
Puppies must be microchipped before they go to their new homes under the new law that came into effect on 6 April 2016.
The breeder should be the first registered keeper of the puppy – they are breaking the law if they do not register the puppy by the time he or she is eight weeks old. Breeders should also pass on correct microchip paperwork to the new owner when the puppy goes home. ..................
If a breeder has not microchipped and registered the puppy before you take them home, and cannot give you evidence to show the reason for the delay, walk away.
