Sorry I am just not sure what you mean. The charge is £160. £60 is claimed by the client. Is that what you mean?

I am angry, especially given the timing. The fact that my car wasn't even involved bugs me even more. This is the last thing I need right now. I have been through the appeals on newbies and all seems quite complicated. Can I just say my plates were knicked at the time and it wasnt me?
I could dig up some proof.

    Police crime number?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It's going to be too complicated talking about number plates with scammers.
The great Gladstones scam is well known to the courts, so spend the weekend reading about Abuse of Process Parts 1 & 2 ..... read how these legals get spanked by the courts for fakery

Once read come back here please

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Nowhere , you are in no man's land awaiting a court claim pack from the CCBC in Northampton

Which is why you issue a SAR to cup with proof of I D

And you follow the rest of the LBC advice in the second post of the newbies FAQ sticky thread

If a court claim does arrive , post back with the issue date and also the charges breakdown and total claimed etc

Obviously, you reply to Gladstones anyway, with proof of the cloned plates...
