Gladstones letter received very late

Hi all. I have read the newbies but I still require help. I received a letter today from Trace about a recent incident and, in doing so, I just looked through the other post and noticed I have a Gladstone LBC from just over a month ago about a separate case going back to January 2019. Obviously this one is priority so my question is based on this. Back in early January 2019 I was receiving all kinds of official council PCN's due to the fact someone had stolen my number plates. I had reported it so got them all cancelled on appeal. I must have not appealed this one as it was a private firm and, up until recently thought it best to ignore them. I know now that is not the case. Fast forward to now and I have this LBC letter. My wife is adamant it only came last week, yet it is dated 16/03/2020. My post is taking forever at the moment so not sure but I am very annoyed they decide to chase me 18 months later, now most people are in financial turmoil. I know this wasn't us parking there but it is too late to appeal. What is my course of action now?
Shall I contact Gladstones and tell them this?

The newbies tells you how to deal with LBCs, for sure.2

I would say that everyones post is taking forever due to C19,I am still waiting for an order for some car bulbs from a uk ebay seller that is 2 weeks overdue , despite a despatch email , plus the PO tracking system has problems too, but neiither my problems or your late post has any relevance to your LBC or debt letteras stated above, the newbies thread tells you about an LBC and also we have no proof that Gladstones even sent out this LBC or that it is an actual LBCstop stressing your wife out about when the post came , it doesnt help to blame the messengerthey have 6 years to issue a claim and as they are doing very little business at the moment they are all trawling through old paperwork and resurrectiong old invoices and trace are tracing people, standard practicename the parking company and location please1

Don't be concerned, you are about to deal with probably the most incompetent legal in the UK. NOT JOKING
Just to confirm, the LBC gives you 30 days to respond, proof of their claim is enclosed and there are forms which you do not complete ... is that correct ?
Sounds like the letter from Trace is a different issue, and Trace being timewasters, you can ignore.
Can you give a breakdown of the Gladstones claim4 -
The client is Close Unit Protection Services Ltd.
Location was R/O 151-189 Hoe Street, Walthamstow E17 3AL.
I have tried to go on the clients website but I am not sure it is there. Keeps directing me to spam sites.0 -
the CUP site works for me using the BPA AOS linkwhat makes you believe the gladstones letter was a real LBC from gladstones and not a debt collector letter from somebody like DRPL ? (we only have your word that it is a formal LBC and that GLADSTONES sent it)3

Thanks both Beamerguy and Redx. The gladstones letter came as a shock. I have the separate Trace issue so I just thought it was related. WHen I checked the details it has my old car's registration. I honestly dont even remember the original notice from this Close Unit Protection. At the time I had another couple of PCNS due to the theft of my plates. I have an email with my appeal to Hertfordshire council which was accepted.
I am not sure how to tell the difference of a genuine Gladtones letter or not. Seems genuine to me.0 -
Glads rent out their pimped out letterhead to debt collectors as the newbies thread tells youif its from Gladrags it will have their Knutsford address and phone number on it and payment to GSL with 30 days notice and financial forms, beamerguy told you this earlier in his replyif its from somebody else, it will tell you to contact them , a debt collector, the one who sent it , like DRPL who are well known for itthe first letter of the reference number is another giveaway2

OK, well councils on the other 2 don't won't like private parking scammers.
The letter will have a header saying LETTER BEFORE CLAIM or similar3 -
Yes its definitely official then. Letter Before Claim and the Knutsford address. The 30 days has lapsed though. Do I now ask CUP for the SAR on me?0
-
yes, contact CUP via the privacy page info on their siteattach copies of 2 recent redacted utility bills leaving the date , name and address showing, as proof of I D under the GDPR , plus add a copy of the LBC2
