I want to look through the information sheets for this , just to check some stuff , they apparently have a 'do you need to pay ' work sheet that you work through , but it seems to be not available , and neither is their online chat . Has anyone else dealt with them lately or is it a Coronavirus thing and theyre temporarily closed ? Any know?( Half deaf atm so havent tried phone )

It's Saturday today.
Any way - there is an online tool to assess whether you need to pay. It's working for me now. I don't think it is a form to download.

either you HOLD "personal info" or you do NOT?1 -
I assume the OP is asking on this board as they are a landlord. There have been previous threads here discussing whether a LL should be registered or not, but I don't remember there being a clear consensus.
Any LL will have data relating to their tenants, referees or guarantors maybe. Data is data whether they are paper records or on a computer.

Paper data still needs to be handled in accordance with the DPA but the OP was asking about payment for registration. That is simply not required for paper only data.1

Hi again . Ive had a chance to read this again , I still think I need to pay .
Do you process the information electronically?
Answer ‘Yes’ if you process the information using computers or any system that can process the information automatically, including CCTV systems, digital cameras, smartphones, credit card machines, call logging and recording systems, clocking machines and audio-visual capture and storage systems.
Doesn't this mean that typing up your rental contract with names , using a laptop , is processing your tenants information automatically ? ( The legal definition of processing on the ICO page means 'recording' ) . No-one would even think about handwriting 20 odd pages of contract , surely ?0 -
