Unblocking on a BT contract

My brother and I keep in contact via mainly text messages with a weekly phone call. He only has a simple basic mobile phone. His contract is with BT and this encompasses his and his wife's phone and BT Sport in which we are both interested. He is not very good with technical matters!
He accidentally blocked messages coming from me and now I can't text him, though I can still receive his. He believes that to undo the block he has to go to a BT shop, which of course he can't do now, even if one was open. 
Has anyone had any experience of anything similar? What should I advise him to do?

Given the circumstance just buy another cheap PAYG mobile? Either on line or if not isolating any SM that sells them,.

Factory reset the phone will wipe all .

Might help if we knew what phone .

Also check in BT account   personal blacklist

tell him to look tour number up in txt hit options then unblock should along those lines
