Annual Travel Insurance Renewals

Hello - I currently have an annual travel insurance policy with AA. I've never bought an annual one before as I usually buy single cover, but we had three holidays booked this year so it was worth taking out an annual policy this time around. My holidays this year have successfully been cancelled without any cost implications or having to claim through insurance and my policy runs from March 2020 until March 2021.
I'm wanting to book a holiday for October 2021 (our honeymoon) but I'm not sure how annual policies work? If I booked this holiday in the next few weeks would my current policy cover this as the departure date is after the annual policy expiry date, or do I need to take out a new single trip policy for this holiday at the end of next year (which is currently hard to do due to COVID-19)? I wasn't sure if it would be covered also if we renew the policy next March either? Thanks!

If the annual insurance expires, it will not cover any holidays after the expiry.

Your current annual insurance will cover you if you have to cancel future holiday before it expires, although not for CV related illness. After March 2021 you will need a new policy.

So, I can go ahead and book a holiday for October 2021 without taking out a separate policy, as long as I renew the annual policy in March 2021 it will be continuously covered? Thanks.TELLIT01 said:Your current annual insurance will cover you if you have to cancel future holiday before it expires, although not for CV related illness.
