Virgin Hols eventually cancelled our holiday, 4 of us to St Lucia, we were due home a few days ago :)
£14,000 refund owing. The email i got from them asked if we wanted a voucher or refund... I selected refund...We got a voucher !
Eventually got through to customer services by telephone after a few days, the lady stated that we had been issued a voucher, so she has "changed" it to a refund. She also stated that HER Virgin Holiday was cancelled late March, and shes still waiting for a refund. So i guess its not anytime soon. Its an awful lot of money, and the other party that were travelling with us are in their 70`s, and was going to be a once in a lifetime trip.

You have the option to wait or if you paid via a card claim it back that way, as with Virgin that might be quicker.

There are people with March holidays who have not had their refunds yet. They are now not even saying 100 days as they can't be sure of meeting that.

The trouble I see of waiting that long,  if they keep extending the time-frame, then a Chargeback will no longer be available.

Ours was cancelled 17 March, so 71 days since we were promised a refund. I have made a claim through the credit card company, but they have said that they are unlikely to pay out as VH haven't said that they wouldn't refund. I don't believe that VH have refunded a single person yet, so the time scales quoted are just meaningless.

I appreciate that things are taking longer at the moment, but if I can work full time as normal at the same time as home schooling my son and caring for my wife, I can't see why it takes VH so long to even start processing the payments. It's nothing to do with staffing levels, it just that VH are refusing to make any refunds at the moment. I'm not sure that VH will survive anyway given their lack of customer care during all of this, so they should be forced to make the refunds.

They are being horrendously slow but there definitely have been refunds now.
