I bought a car on my card for my son and he then BT'd the amount from my card onto a 0% card he'd got from Barclaycard in order to end up effectively getting a 0% 36 month loan. All that was asked for was the card number it was being transferred from, they didn't seem to care whose name it was in.

Did suspect this to be the case. Credit Card Company A would have absolutely no way of veryfying that the card with Credit Card Company B is in the same name anyway.MinuteNoodles said:I bought a car on my card for my son and he then BT'd the amount from my card onto a 0% card he'd got from Barclaycard in order to end up effectively getting a 0% 36 month loan. A security check in what way? Natwest cant just ring up Barclays (as an example) and ask if Barclays card number ending 1234 they are about to make a payment to belongs to the same person as Natwest card number ending 1234.ssdkck said:Good to know. Just done transfer from my Natwest card to OH’s Lloyd’s card, no problem. They just ask for card number, no name or anything.
Done it online Thursday evening (Lloyd’s give you an automated call with a security code to put in online banking to finalise transfer) payment credited to Natwest as pending yesterday, showing as cleared today.
On another note: obviously in a new ish relationship I’d never suggest taking on someone else’s debt (we’ve been together 20 years and own a house together so our financials are tied together anyway. Just makes sense for him to carry any debt as looks better on his credit record than mine as he earns significantly more!0
