Just about all of them. Santander used to be an exception, but others have reported that they now allow it.

    Are you sure?
As HSBC, FD, M&S & JL You can not do a balance transfer between them.

I think they mean “partner” as in spouse.

    Ah. Ok deleted my post.

Only thing to remember is you are then taking on their debt.

Do you mean from  the same bank or from a different bank?

    My story:
Halifax interest free credit card coming to an end so I got an everyday credit card from Santander and transfered over my balance from Halifax, no problem.
My wife wanted to do the same and they accepted her request but when we got the card her credit limit was for less than she asked for and apparently they will not transfer any money atall (but were happy enough to keep the direct debit to pay a non-existant debt!).
Is it possible to transfer my wifes balance from the Halifax to my Santander account?
Credit limit is fine (over the combined amount) and we can pay it off, just wondering if this is actually possible!

Yes if Santander accept transfers from cards in other names.

I read this thread with interest, because in my experience, Balance Transfers are usually only permitted from cards in your own name. It is usually possible to balance transfer from a card in someone else's name, but this is not usually allowed. Has this changed recently?

Been sorting this out this morning with Santander
The only way you can do it is to have the spouse added as an additional cardholder and then transfer the debt from a non santander/cahoot credit card that way.

Wifes card on my account arrived, was activated and then her balance from her Halifax credit card was transferred to my account

The last time I did this, I did it online and the transfer didn't even require the name of the account, just the long card number.
