in Water bills
i moved in to my rented accommodation 10 years ago. a water meter guy came round to read the meter, couldnt find a meter so left without a meter reading. 2 weeks later i got a letter asking for a meter reading but i dont have a meter so did not send a reading. the letter has my name and address and a water account number on it so they no i live there. i havent recieved a bill or any other letters since so is it my responsibility to chase the water company to give them money or should i just wait for a bill and set up an installment plan with them when/if i get a bill?

Welcome to the forum. What sort of accomodation do you occupy? Is it a house converted to flats?1

its a flat above a shop. be that way for more than the 10 years ive been here. but it was renovated before i moved in, wether the water meter got pulled out then i dont know0

I suspected that might be the case.Often when there is your arrangement - or a house converted to flats - the water company are not aware there are two dwellings in the building. It is possible/probable that the 'water account number' they wrote about belongs to the shop and is getting paid by the shop.1
