Coventry 9 digit account number

I'm wanting to transfer my ISA out of Coventry and into another provider. My Coventry ISA has a 9 digit account number but the form from the new provider allows me to enter an 8 digit account number, or a roll number.

Is the Coventry account number really a roll number with it being a building society?

It's an account number. You just have to leave the first digit out when you're doing any payments.

.No it is not a roll number/  I have just successfully completed a ISA transfer from Coventry.  I entered the 9 digit account number on my transfer form.   It worked ok.  So I imagine either an 8 (leaving the first digit off) or 9 digit account number would work.  All transferred within 3 days of request.
