Leaving site

I recently received a parking invoice from UKPC at a Macclesfield v Crewe at Macclesfield where my vehicle was parked on the Lyme Green retail park at 7.15pm as you are permitted 3 hours free parking.
I took my son to the turnstiles to make sure he got in the ground safely again as I usually do and called in Burger King to get a coffee and and a quick look around the car sales showroom then returned to my car at approximately 8.15, to my amazement I had been issued a parking notice at 8.01pm for apparently leaving site . The car showrooms and Burger King is on the Lyme Green retail site
Do I pay this invoice or do I ignore it as it appears to be a complete scam . Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated

    Neither.

Follow the guidance offered in the first post of the NEWBIES thread.

To find the NEWBIES thread, go back to where you found the New Thread button earlier, and the NEWBIES thread is one of the first four threads in the list.

    Who is the parking company?

This is just a rubbish scam by a known fraudster.
There is a muppet at UKPC who writes this rubbish. Last one I heard saying this, the OP wrote to them by email asking for photo proof ....... the crazzies wrote back saying they would have to ask the warden. ?

    You do the same

Not disagreeing with the above - needing to find the newbies threads and follow the advice - but you'll probably find if you check the small print on the signs around the car park, it's a free 3 hours for anyone shopping on the retail park. A long time ago I worked in East London, where one of my company stores was next to a tube station - of course people parked there and took the tube to here there and everywhere - so they instigated a similar theme - anyone left the retail park without first having been in one of the shops was clamped. It was done to ensure spaces were available for genuine customers. I would guess being next to a stadium - it's the same flow of thought. The retailers pay for the privilege of having car parking - so it should be for their customers. (I'm sure you are a customer - but there will be those that turn up - park for a couple of hours on a peak match day - blocking others from parking and shopping). Anyway that's enough of my rambles - go find the newbie boards and start following the advice to deal with the ticket.

You are a bit behind the times, clamping went out in 2012 for private operators like UKPC

After that, UKPC started faking timestamps and at one time were banned by the DVLA

PHOTO PROOF IS REQUIRED for the claim of leaving site

Cooper2000, you should edit your post to remove information about who parked etcetera. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people. The Keeper has protections in law the The Driver does not.
    Parking scammers read this forum.

Once you have edited your post, do as already advised and read the sticky thread for NEWBIES that asks you to read it first before starting a new thread, then send the appeal template in blue you will find there, unaltered, from The Keeper.

    That doesn't matter, because:
    (a) UKPC never have any evidence of who the driver was, no photos, no facial recognition.  Nothing.
    (b)  all this OP has to do, is wait till day 26 and appeal as keeper (but the NEWBIES thread already says this is how to deal with a windscreen PCN and why wait till day 26).  It's all there.
    (c) UKPC 'left the site' cases are all over the forum - please read some and learn, @Cooper2000 - and these are dead easy for a keeper appellant to win, if they wait till day 26.  Only then appeal online and don't choose 'driver' in the appeal menu.

No asking ''why wait till day 26?''
That's why this stuff is in the NEWBIES thread, as we can't repeat it ad infinitum!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I know - I was giving a retrospective example of people being penalised for leaving a retail park  - as I said many years ago.

Leaving site is very very difficult for a PPC to win at court.  It may well be in breach of both the Human Rights Act and The Consumer rights Act 2015.   The wind low you brand neww £300Panama across the road , do you not go after it?

A judge may also regard it as trifling, read this

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_minimis

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

    http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2019/8/contents/enacted

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
