Agni Travel Villa Holiday Refund?

Has anyone been able to get a refund from Agni Travel for villa/accommodation for holidays that were due to commence before the end of April? I have spent hours trying to reach them by phone to no avail. Email has been more successful but sadly, despite pandemic not being quoted as an example, they won’t recognise Force Majeure as grounds for a full refund. As a final attempt at getting a full refund, I took legal advice and used the Frustrated Contract route but full cash refund still denied. However, copious emails have provided sufficient evidence to show that no refund will be coming from Agni Travel, I have submitted a Section 75 Form + required evidence to my credit card that I paid on. My bank Travel insurance will only look at the claim if both of these routes have been tried and failed. I tried to push them to cancel but they did not and I did not cancel either as advised not to as it would affect my consumer rights.
Agni Travel did offer a credit voucher but they are not the ABTA/Government backed scheme, so of no value to me, as travel and holidays probably are not going to be high on my agenda or even possible for the foreseeable future as I am shielding for 12 weeks but with a likely much longer duration.

I think you are doing it right , a section 75 and then if that fails then travel insuranceEx forum ambassador

Hi there, this was my situation, they didn't cancel the villa, so I contacted them to ask if they were going to but instead they were demanding the full amount which was another 1800 euros approximately! They then advised me to contact my insurance company (insurance was in place before Covid19) so I went down that route. Insurance company said they won't pay out as I was offered a 'voucher'. I didn't pay by credit card stupidly so cant even go down that route. I reported them to ABTA but it appears that you have to have booked a package holiday to be protected. I reported to CMA but they only investigate and can't help you get your money back. Last option is FInancial Ombudsman but not holding my breath! I did read that someone had actually got their refund from Agni on FB - love to know how exactly!!0

I have the same issue, i was due to go in May, all my flights were cancelled so was unable to get there, i have since took the voucher, but it has to be used to book by end Dec 2020. at this point in time, there is no 2 bed villas in the place i want to go, only 3 beds and i dont want to pay more money. it looks like i cant now go down the insurance route, because i took the voucher. Any suggestions?

How about asking if given the ongoing situation with Covid that they extend the validity of your voucher?0

have you asked if the voucher date can be extended? Many travel companies have changed the expiry of their vouchers given the situation is very much ongoing0
