holidayautos - Impossible to get a refund.......

I had a car booked with Holiday Auto's which I had to cancel the booking of due to the Corona Virus Outbreak. I cancel this on the 18th March and received an email saying I will be refunded within 20 Business days, After the 20 days I chased them up only to be told it would be 25 Business days. I have just received another email saying  "We are working hard on the backlog and hope to complete all pending refunds no later than the 31st May 2020."
Anyone have any idea's on what I can do and where I stand on this.

    Yes, be patient.  I'm afraid it's not what you want to hear but in the circumstances it's what you'll have to do.

    Its fine saying that however I could do with the £550 back, a could really do with it at the moment

    I had something similar with a hotel refund.  The hotel accepted the refund, and it took about three weeks to appear on my card - when it did, it had a date of two weeks earlier.  So the hotel had put the refund through, but there was a delay for some reason before it appeared on my card.  Do be patient, companies are having to refund so many transactions, where they'd normally have to do only a few - typically as refunds are relatively rare, these processes aren't always automated.

    Hello there.I booked car via this company too.I paid everything in february , and cat booked for march 18th.Cancun airport and there told me not arrived my money from booker to Mex car rent company.(1 months !) So there I don"t get car beacuse my payment not send to there, so my vacation just was f... up! Going to bus etc.. it was full booked so we don't find cars there.No more holidaysauto.com

    Rita, what are you doing going on holiday to Mexico at the moment? Perhaps Boris got wind of your trip and decided as you went against his ban that he would kibosh it and cancel your car rental.
