Hi
I'm trying to purchase a 10GB Sim Only Vodafone basics plan through uswitch for £10/m and yes, i know its a stripped down version of their SO regular plans, ie no wifi calling, no inclusive roaming etc but I'm fine with that. Once I get to Vodafone's website, and try to place the order, I get the message 'sorry you have been unsuccessful: credit check failed' which was rather surprising considering i have no issues with my credit history. But to be sure, I've just taken out trial subscriptions with both Experian & Equifax to view my credit reports and everything came back fine, nothing unusual on there. So why would VF reject me if my credit reports are all fine? Has anyone successfuly managed to take out one of their Basics plan? I did call their sales team but unsurprisingly, they were unable to help me further saying the Basics plans are online only.
Cheers

Try VOXI, their cheapo cousin. Offer a the moment 8g for a tenner, monthly plan. May get same credit result but you never know until you try

Thanks. I would have preferred to join Vodafone direct, however I guess the next best thing is to join Voxi or Talkmobile both of which are owned by Vodafone. Talkmobile's deal for 15gb sim only plan (on a 12 month contract) for £12/m with first three months half price, looks very tempting - works out at £10.50/m over 12 months. Like Voxi, Talkmobile also don't carry out a full credit check though an ID check is done (which i shouldn't have any problems with).

Went through simsherpa.com and signed up for Talkmobile's 9gb plan for £9/m with the first 3 months half price. Works out at £7.88/m over 12 months which is a pretty good deal. Maybe Vodafone rejecting me directly was a blessing in disguise
