If a complaint handled by Which has been unsuccessful, why would you think anyone here could help? Surely you should approach your councillor or MP.
Personally, I think you should accept what has happened. Pay it back and take the six year punishment. Just don't let it cause you any more stress...impact on your mental health...
Alternatively, you start a game of letter tennis by way of an official written complaint.yep loads left - a lot paid back already. I offered it straight back but they said pay in instalments, zero interest, allowed me to freeze the entire account, was very apologetic and originally overly helpful.Which? were super helpful and surprised BC wouldn't fix the credit file, they helped with the ombudsman and when BC refused to release calls they advised me to go legalI tried here as I guess I hoped someone had experienced similar and went this is who you should speak with to get this resolved. It all seems ridiculous, to be honest, they admitted full fault, no issues or argument from me paying it back but I do take issue with them destroying my credit for the foreseeable when the mistakes were from them.MP thats one I hadn't thought of thank you for that, my ideal is not to engage in a lengthy legal battle0 -
Are you sure that, when you returned the £7K to your parents, you didn't send it to Barclaycard instead?I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

OP So somebody went into a bank armed with all your details and paid in £7000 to your Barclaycard? I didn’t think tat was even possible without a credit card bill for the owed amount or having the card for the account at hand.Whenever I’ve handed money into Barclays you have to insert your card into the reader and enter your pin before they will even accept it into my account. It must be the same for paying into a credit card account? Especially £7000.0
