Why move a business account to a bank you were having a problem with should keep business and personal accounts in different banks but also different banking groups.0

Trying to blame Barclays for giving you the 7K when you know full well that you did not put in the bank account. All you had to do is confirm to Barclays they made a mistake with the original 7k and you DID not transfer the 7K in. Instead, you thought u could get away with it and spent it. Everything else is meaningless, who said what, they said this, they said that etc.

You didnt offer it straight back, you offered it back in installments at 0% interest, basically turning into an interest free loan you weren't entitled to.
Why you had spent £7k in under a month, only you know, but you have made a rod for your own back.0 -

If a complaint handled by Which has been unsuccessful, why would you think anyone here could help? Surely you should approach your councillor or MP.
Personally, I think you should accept what has happened. Pay it back and take the six year punishment. Just don't let it cause you any more stress...impact on your mental health...
Alternatively, you start a game of letter tennis by way of an official written complaint.D3xt3r5L4b said:Is the long and short of this your credit “score” has dropped from the 900’s to something lower and you think it’s bad?
yes - I wanted to shut the whole credit card account after this (including our original balance) because of so many security issues - multiple monies in and out that had nothing to do with us -so they apologised in writing and agreed, froze everything at zero interest and said pay it off in a few instalments if easier. All very amicable at this point. Then they registered on my credit file I was 500% over my lending ability - apparently, when freezing they also dropped our credit card limit with them. This 500% thing stops any other lending whatsoever not even a mobile phone contract for the foreseeable.

So the way I see it:
- Mistaken £7000 credit added to the card
- You get a "promotional" 0% rate (for an unspecified period) so you can pay it back in interest free instalments
- You make at least one repayment
- Your credit limit is reduced to £1400ish and the 0% rate is lost because Barclaycard claims you didn't pay
- Missed payment markers are put on your credit file
So my questions are:- Did you pay at least the minimum payment each month?
- Do you have any statements that prove these payments were made? (I know your online access is currently broken)
If yes to both, that's where I'd concentrate a complaint on. If missed payments are claimed when they weren't, those should be removed from your file and the 0% rate restored. If you do have any of that £7000 left, you could make a big repayment to reduce the card balance to below £1400ish and therefore not be over the card's credit limit.1
