Employer refuses to furlough me

Hi there, I have worked at Subway on a zero hour contract for a few months now and I believe I am eligible to be classed as furloughed and qualify for the government grant. However, my employer is refusing to classify me as furloughed because she said that I had told her I would be considering to look for another job in April. I am still technically employed under PAYE and have been employed since before March 19th. She has also seemed to tell me that although I had not said I would quit, she may consider sacking me anyway because I had considered looking for another job. Is there anything I can do about this?

In short, no, not really, but I'd suggest trying to keep on as good terms as possible with your employer. No employees have a right to be furloughed; the decision to offer it lies wholly with the employer (though it requires the employee's consent if offered).1
