    But since its NI class 1 credits from being a carer and not actually paid from employment I thought we established from the other thread it would not count towards contribution jsa ,etc.only state pension.
    It counts towards but the Credits on their own are not sufficient, there also has to be at least the equivalent of 26 weeks of contributions in one of the two tax years taken into account. In the other thread bigbill advised that if JSA is applied for this is got round by looking at the two years prior to the start of the CA.
    Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
