Contacting Building Societies and Banks for trivial matters at this time

Post after post on here where members are contacting institutions for absolutely trivial questions.
They (and those who are genuinely struggling with mortgages, lack of income etc) must be pulling their hair out - especially when I've seen so many institutions plead not to bother them if not important.
Again - it's the bubble that exists in this part of the forum.

Trivial to you is not trivial to others. Maybe those people who are contacting ref savings accounts are doing so because they have their own concerns.
Don't be too quick to judge ;-)7 -
Maybe am part of the problem!
Opening accounts!2 -
Nationwide haven't helped themselves by cutting rates so dramatically. They were even brutal on ISAs which have a more intense transfer out process.1

Lloyds Bank seem to be part of the problem. They insist you phone them to close a credit card account1

I agree with you up to a point however if the banks etc are not in a position to deal with these concerns they would be stopping new applications wherever possible, therefore is it not fair to assume they still want our business?

I always contact them by email or secure message when possible. That way they can respond at their leisure. Or ask others on here if they've had similar issues in order to seek information, but that seems to draw criticism from others.
At the end of the day, a minor issue now becomes a complaint or major issue later on that could have been sorted out easily and quickly if brought to the attention of the organisation at the beginning.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?3 -
I don't expect/hanker to get many likes/thanks on this subject in here - I mean why would it (when posted on this part of the forum).
Maybe, just maybe food for thought for some though.....

It's nice when an OP gives thanks as it confirms they returned to see your reply and seems more likely you helped them in some way. Also with the regulars, seeing what views they align to helps better understand their perspectives, which is interesting even if it differs from your own. Sometimes I am surprised with the statements that regulars agree with and it makes you think a bit deeper.
