Unfortunately, if they refuse there's nothing you can do. Use a benefits calculator to see if you're entitled to UC. Savings of more than £16,000 will exclude you. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/

If you're claiming tax credits a claim for UC will end that claim.

  • its shocking , really thought they would help, iv got an application in for UC should recieve some form of payment on the 13 of may or there abouts , wont tell me how much im getting said theres no way of knowing until its processed, but from the figures they have given it doesnt even cover my bills, rang a couple of bills i have going out and they arent helping much anyways , so in fear now of just building up mass amounts of debt that when all this ends im never gonna be able to pay it off.
  • I do t want uc as it effects child benefit I have no savings and the house is mortgaged so no help to be had with rent

Child benefit isn't part of UC and doesn't affect this. If you mean Child tax credits, then yes a claim for UC will end any tax credits you maybe claiming.

For your mortgage you need to speak to your mortgage provider.

A benefit calculator will tell you how much you should be entitled to.

Do you mean child tax credits? Otherwise as poppy says child benefit is a completely separate thing, it does not come as part of the universal credit payment.

I really would echo what she has advised and look at one of the benefit entitlement calculators.
