Understood! Thank you for the quick responses. Your advice is gratefully received as always! We regular folk don't have your vast knowledge for context here, remember. Members of the public like me who are new to this site and subject genuinely and routinely believe that when we get tickets, we have to pay them. You'd be surprised by our lack of knowledge in these circumstances.
I will read the relevant areas / ECP threads / Newbies and start my own new thread, with a first attempt in blue.

You told the world two separate dates in your post at 12.35 which is enough for the scammers to identify the PCN.
