DFS Sofa order.

Hi all,
I've recently purchased a sofa from DFS (from in store) which is yet to be delivered and is awaiting delivery.  The order was made about 5 weeks back.  I've just had an email through from DFS and have realised that the fabric on the sofa isn't the one I wanted - I hadn't spotted this until now.

I've contacted DFS to see if I can amend the fabric to the one I want and I'm waiting to hear back, but wanted to see what rights I have if they say no.  For example, can I just cancel the order and send it back to them if they won't change the fabric, as the sofa hasn't been delivered?  Or is there a way I can return it to them and get out of the contract?  If they make the changes, I'd keep the sofa but just don't want to spend a lot of money on a sofa with the wrong fabric!

Any help massively appreciated.  🙂

    What does your contract say?  If the mistake was yours, or you didn't spot the error in fabric you may not have rights to change your mind.  You can't return it to them and expect a refund or exchange because it wasn't a distance sale.  Your contract may say that if you cancel now, some charge will apply.
