I'm going to try and not shop until Thursday this week so our last lot will have lasted 10 days. That way we should only have three big shops this month (one down, two to go). Eating out of the cupboards and freezer this week. Determined to save something out of the grocery budget this month. New month starts on the 20th8

Needed bread and salad items to tide me over. £8.37 spent.6

spent $20US for 5 dozen eggs this morning. This is on the cheaper side for farm fresh, organic, free-range eggs. And it helps out the young family that's working on establishing their little homestead.
I'll go pick up the eggs this afternoon.

Popped out to get a tray of eggs which I couldn't get on Saturday because I left it too late to get to the butchers! Another £5.90 spent so now have £171.30/£250 left.

OH is having slow cooked meat balls and spaghetti for dinner.
For my dinner I'm having tofu steaks, mashed potato and steamed vegetables; carrots, green beans, asparagus and cavolo nero.

£46.74 spent this week on the delivery - I was determined to spend no more than £45 but I needed migraine tablets.
I also finally managed to get 3 packs of surface wipes!
I do have another shop booked for Sunday as I couldn't get Monday and am hoping by then to have given up the diet coke habit.
I brought a meatball sauce today - not entirely essential as I could have made one but i'm fairly certain ASD son wouldn't have eaten the meal then.
We also brought an extra pack of bacon because we fancied a cooked breakfast.
Over the weekend we really fancied roulade or a pavlova or a cheesecake or something and we had no double cream (I literally couldn't tell you the last time I made any of the above or the last time we brought or used double cream) so I brought 2 today so we can enjoy some puddings.
I have 3 dogs and one of them is really suffering with her joints at the moment and she struggled to manage her walk this morning so having tried all kinds of foods and supplements, not being able to afford raw ready brought etc or prepacked meaty meals I am going to have a try at making some homemade meals for them. If this works the cost will come into the food budget rather than being kept separate due to how and when it's purchased. Today I have used stuff from the house that I already had in. I've made sure to do research into it. I also made homemade treats today for them.
Anyway original budget was £375 for 5 weeks and we are on week 3 having now spent a total of £180.47 which leaves
£194.53. At the start of this month I was FREAKING out about how we would manage and with a lot of time, thought and planning we are doing really, really well. I know we do have a fairly good store at the moment as i'd spent a long time building it up and we are using some of this stuff now. If/when hubby gets made redundant I at least think we can survive (albeit not happily) and if he doesn't then my goal will be save save save! My anxiety and stress levels are absolutely sky high!Everything is always better after a cup of tea8 -
Well done Chirpy Chick. I used to help look after some doggies and every Friday was a doggy dinner cook up. I can't remember what was in there but it was some kind of mince, rice and definitely some veg and garlic. Smelled really lovely.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

a bit of a big spend for me! £31.52, including batteries and loo roll. I'm making pizza this week (saving money on dominos!) and also tarts, so plenty of fresh veg. Also picked up some ice cream and chocolate to have as a treat - need to get a handle on this spending though, as it does seem to be getting a bit out of hand...
