Virgin ADSL broadband speed gone up?

I am on the 8meg service and haven't had anything better than dialup for the last 4 months, then last night about 9pm it went up to 6meg and has been since. Have they fixed something?

Dunno all this week I've had dial up type speeds, todays been ok. Though i've just signed up to BT Broadband for my new place. If they want to keep people they should have emailed us to let us know what was going on.
