Good grief! So much misinformation!* there is no requirement for an agent/landlord to provide the LL's address - unless/until asked in writing.* there is a requirement for an agent/landlord to provide AN address in Eng/Wales ' for serving notices' on the landlord from the start of a tenancy - but this can be c/o the agent or anyone/ anywhere else.Landlord & Tenant Act 1985 section 1 Landlord & Tenant Act 1987 section 48 or £3.00 to the Land Registry here will get you the address of the property owner. But note a) it may not be up to date - not all LL's update the LL so it could be, for example, the address you are renting b) the property owner may not be your landlord....

We never had our landlord's address, I know it was in the same sort of area as our rental because he said before that he was only 5 mins around the corner. We just had his mobile number, so the few issues we had with the house we arranged directly with him and he sorted them, without going through the letting agent. We didn't really need his address anyway as we had a contact number, but you'll need some way of contacting the landlady so you can ask about buying it. If Purple Bricks won't give you any contact details, you could try the Land Registry.0

Yeah we want to speak to her direct we just don't trust purplebricks, we think if we ask through them they'd put her off it or not even ask. I've just looked at that wouldn't thr address on the report though be the one that I'm renting from her? And not her living address?iampetesmith said:We never had our landlord's address, I know it was in the same sort of area as our rental because he said before that he was only 5 mins around the corner. Did you read the link I gave you?
It's an offence if Purple Bricks don't reply to your written request for the LL's actual address within 21 days....6

The land registry records and supplies the owner's 'contact address', to which they (and you!) write if they have information regarding the property. But when people move, the LR is often not on their list of organisations to update, always assuming they provided a contact address other than the property in the first place.0

Was this through a letting agents? What is a section 21?Planet_Switzerland said:Be careful, I too once rented somewhere that was ideal for me to buy as my first property. After I asked whether the landlord was planning to sell in the near future, I was told no and then served a section 21.0
