Should I cash in my Investment ISA?

The best thing would probably be to read the gazillions of other threads asking that question on this and the main savings board, the summary of which is that if you've invested according to your risk tolerance and objectives then stick with it, but if not then accept the financial consequences of your mistake(s)....4

If you don't need to cash in your investment to meet some financial need in the near future, then you're probably best to keep it invested.1

I wouldn't even consider selling right now. If anything I'd consider investing more if you can.

No the OP is asking if he should get out now while the investment still has some meaningful value. That is a reasonable question but only the OP can answer it. You will only get a range of views from 'randoms' on here . I'd say if it worries you then cash in.Alistair31 said:

No way to guess if that is the case. Indeed, if the OP had actually looked at their value over the CV period they would see that its been rising again for the last few weeks.
I'd say if it worries you then cash in.That is dangerous advice. Often people worry during the peak of downturns but they don't need to be told they should cash it in. Things should be explained to them. Knowledge brings understanding. Which in turn reduces worry. If after all that, they are still worried then there are other options available, such as reducing risk that do not require cashing it in.
So, jumping to the "cash it in" statement is premature and unhelpful. It could be worse. Some fool could come along and tell them to invest in silver or gold.

If you have a bad day do you jump off a cliff? People who have sensible long term investments shouldn't get distracted by 24 hour news.EdGasketTheSecond said:
