I don't think HMRC are in the slightest bit interested in children earning £12-20 a week.0 -

Did I read that you said you were a civil servant? They'd be interested in you too if you are doing a bit of moonlighting on the side for a bit of pin money (as may your employer)

There was another thread a couple of weeks ago that suggested a boy who did two paper rounds was to be furloughed by both. I cannot believe this is within the spirit of the scheme, and I am amazed so many paper boys seem to be on payrolls.0

All I meant was that from an employer's perspective they may not have to have a PAYE scheme i.e. the only employees are paper girls/boys earning say £12-20/week but if they have a PAYE scheme then anyone employed needs to be included on the employers Real Time Information reports to HMRC.
Under the Job Retention Scheme people are either eligible for the employer to consider furloughing or not and being on a payroll which was being reported to HMRC at 28 February is one part of the eligibility criteria.
