I am currently using Aj Bell YouInvest as to hold some UK and US shares
Whilst I read several articles, including the ones on this forum, my current level of knowledge is not sufficient to understand how trading really works.
However, the investments I've made on some specific companies is due to having confidence in the performance of these companies.
I'd like to get more involved into this and will really appreciate if people can share their experiences and answer the following questions where possible.
I have done some reading but the amount of information is overwhelming and sparse.
1) Are there websites/books that give comprehensive end-to-end information about trading?
Whilst I'm alright with the fees I'm charged from Aj Bell based on my current investment flow (very minimal), your profit can take a hit if you trade more often, especially foreign stocks, where FX fees are exorbitant
2) Are there better platforms with better fees that you would recommend?
Aj Bell doesn't allow multiple bank accounts, which means that every time I buy/sell a foreign stock, I am hit with FX
3) Is there a way to avoid FX fees? for example using a platform that allows to store multiple currencies or allows to add current accounts like Revolut, which can be used for US currency and many others.

However, the fees are considerably higher (if I understand this correctly)
- Membership fee of £9.99 per month (around £120 per year)Commission rates: Only £7.99 for all UK and US trades. Regular investing is free.- £7.99 per trade - now does this mean that if I buy a share it's free? I get only charged if I sell it?
Does Regular investing mean that I am entitled to charge free purchases only if I do them regularly?0 -

Trading in itself is relatively straight forward. Though nuances do occur. Once moves into international shares and other non mainstream LSE listed company shares. Forms, qualification to be regarded as an experienced investor, tax, illiquid markets, share spreads for example. If you are proposing to trade Microsoft, Amazon or Apple shares then you'll encounter no particular difficulties.0 -
OP - This is probably not the best forum for your question as it is about savings and Investments , not trading/gambling.0
