I’m off to Vegas on a stag do later in the year and I was told the best Travel card out at the moment is a card called “Equals”
I have never heard of them before, but the upside for me is I can withdraw up to £1,500 a day.
Anyone know if they are OK before I get one sorted for my trip.0 -
It would be more polite to have started a new thread rather than high jack someone else's, particularly given the nature of the original post. (Update - this post has now been separated from the one to which I refer to).
In answer to your question, Equals is run by Fair FX who have been going for many years offering various foreign currency facilities, are UK based and have a good reputation. If you have a need for a high daily cash withdrawal limit (which implies that you expect to lose big time) then in my opinion it would be worth considering. However, that's the only good point.
For a general card for use abroad, where you need less cash on a daily basis etc, then there are much better options starting with the Starling account.1 -
Sorry new to the forum0

Only had a quick look but they appear to be setting the exchange rate themself which is a no-no for me. Even if they disclose it when you change your money to USD, if you don't like it then it's too late unless you want to leave your money in GBP and get it back later. £1 ATM fee not encourging either.

Also only a quick look, but it appears to be just another attempt to persuade those going on a foreign holiday that they need to convert their money into a particular currency at adverse rates then pay fees to use it.
Of course this is completely unnecessary expense and hassle when you can quickly and easily sign up for Starling Bank, Monzo and/or Revolut accounts, or others, or obtain one of the various 'travel' cards if traveling more regularly.Evolution, not revolution0
