Ones that have humidity sensors and continue to run for as long as they detect high humidity are best.  

I usually open the window as well as run the extractor fan, I know it's not idea and always practical.
However I never considered a dehumidifier, I thought an extractor fan is sufficient.
Is a strong extractor fan venting air outside the building not also dehumidifying the bathroom?
