The range Lay z spa

Hi,
I was just wondering about my rights when it comes to goods bought from the range and further steps I may be able to take.
I bought a spa from the range in June of 2019 and used it during the summer, this week i decided to set it up again but the rcd unit isnt working on the pump, I rang the store I bought it from and they told me to contact Bestway (the manufacturer) so i contacted the actual customer service team of the range, the lady on the phone spoke to her manager and he said they would look into it if it was less than six months old but as it is ten months they won't do anything, I quoted the consumer rights act to them but they said that only appied to certain items and my spa was not one of them. I think they are incorrect, can anyone tell me if I am right that it is their responsibility, and what should my next actions be, contact Bestway, take it to small claims court or cart the whole thing back to the store?
Thank you
Nick

NickYou are wrong i'm afraid. As you've had the item over 6 months, the onus is now on you to prove it was inherently faulty. You can do that by means of an independant report. If this goes in your favour, they will have to refund the cost of the report ans supply a remedy of their choosing.Of couse you can contact Bestway, but you will have to abide by the terms of their warranty if there is one.1 -
Thank you very much for that reply i shall have somebody look at it.0

Both Right and wrongCR after 6 months the vendor may ask you for an independent report backing up your claim ( you pay ).The manufacturer may offer you a better option or not under their warranty .Small Claims you would really need to give them a chance to repair first .0

I’m having a similar issue, bought one from drinkstuff in June 2018 tried to set it up this week and there is water leaking from the air hose on the actual tub, it turns out the non return valve is broke and it’s quite common found lots of people in the same situation. Drinkstuff won’t deal with it and Bestway said it’s out of warranty and that it’s wear and tear! So would have to buy a liner which is £400 and only paid £420 for the whole thing! I expected it to last more than 20months for that price, it’s only had light use as well! So annoyed just don’t know what I can do now?0

Bestway offer an extended warranty free of charge on purchase and are usually happy to send replacements for a year if you registered that warranty .Try one of the owners forums (Facebook is a good place to start) as the hot tubs are notorious for failure and they offer tips. I had my Miami replaced 3 times in the first 12 months and the 4th replacement is still sitting unpacked in the garage as I have given up with it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
