iPhone and iPad problem
Good morning everybody, I trust you are all safe.
I have two problems, one with my iPhone 6s, and the second with my iPad Air mini, They problems both appear the same but I don't understand why.
Yesterday, the day before at the latest, the power on both devices just went potty! Both lost power an an alarming rate and neither reached full power, even when pluged in for hours at a time.
Last night, about midnight, the iphone had a charge of 46 percent, this morning at seven the charge had dropped to 13 percent and the alarm was just a slight tingle in the background. The iPad was at 1 percent last night, plugged in to a power supply overnight it had only reached 19 percent by seven this morning ! This morning I plugged the iPhone in and within 30 min the charge had jumped to 47 percent with the little power indicator at the top coloured yellow.
I went through all the
usual checklists: the software is up to day, I've cleaned the
charging ports with a soft tooth brush, I've completely shut down both both machines and powered on
again. The iPad was turned of last while charging and had only jumped from one percent to nine percent over night!
Had the problem just occurred on one device I would have put it down to battery trouble but occurring on both devices at the same time, well that's what puzzles me.
Computer/phone wise I'm
just a user. The web, texting, email, Facebook, a little word processing, a relatively small number of apps. Over this past three week, however, since self isolating I have spent some time on WhatsApp with members of the family. The only thought I have is
could it be a virus? I'm told that Apple products hardly ever get viruses, but if it is then what sort of virus is it and of course whats the fix. With the lockdown at
the moment I can't even take it to the local phone shop to see what
they think, so any ideas
As always many thanks for your advice and stay safe
Kevin

From what you have said I think there may have been an iOS update in the background?'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Sounds like the power supply.
but could be an update issue of some kind.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
There seems to be two suggestions: the power supply and the IOS upgrade.I had thought of the power supply but as both machines were loosing what charge they had at a alarming rate I couldn't see that. One Yes, both NO. Sudduk could you expand a little on the power supply suggestions. I'm not tech minded so what should I do to check this out?Exemplar could you explanin you suggestion re the IOS update? I have read in the past that updates cause problems for some people. What should I look for what should I check out.Again many thanks for taking the time to respond and keep safe.Kevin

If its an update that as done it you should be able to go into your setting on the phone for update software and it should give a date when it was last updated.
if it is the update then you may be able to roll back to the old software on the phone....Not sure how not got a iphone.
I would start with the charger first.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -

Sorry for not replying sooner but I just managed to get an Apple charging lead two days back
it appears as though I was worrying about nothing 😐 .
With battery health at 87 percent I had her charged to 100 percent at 1.30 am and in the morning it dropped to 95 percent. I suppose I could put that down to background apps and the age of the phone iPhone 6s
Again thanks 👍1 -
Try putting it into airplane mode overnight.Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!1

Putting it onto Airplane Mode charges it quicker when it's not in use.
In terms of iPhone 6S are there any apps which you seldom open which don't warrant having Background Refresh toggled on?It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Please check the battery health in the settings .if the battery health is in service then u need to change the battery.-3
