transfer in only part of an existing ISA

I have a NatWest cash ISA that I added to over the years and it's now in value excess of the FSA compensation limit so I want to split it and put the excess over £85,000 in a which is around £30,000 into a new 2020/21 ISA, leaving the remainder in the NatWest ISA
I wanted to do it last year but although I found a transfer in ISA, I found I could only transfer in the whole of my existing ISA which would defeat the object of me moving to keep under £85000. How can I achieve this please.
Does anyone know a new ISA account where I can request it just transfers only part of an existing ISA in please.

Most cash ISA providers will accept partial transfers. You were quite unlucky to pick a provider who does not.

Thank you , because of that unlucky experience I thought that was just the way it was across the board, I will enquire with a provider about partial transfers before I open one. Many Thanks.0

Virgin Money definitely accept transfers of partial ISA. I very recently arranged for Virgin to make 2 partial transfers from a single Santander ISA into 2 new ISAs with Virgin. I also left a small balance with Santander.John607 said:Thank you , because of that unlucky experience I thought that was just the way it was across the board, I will enquire with a provider about partial transfers before I open one. Are you sure it was your new provider who wouldn't accept a partial transfer? Any possibility NatWest will only transfer out in full?1 -
