This one, you cannot post to it so I'd expect a big banner saying so. Anyone know?

It's like all the big banners at the top. Nobody sees them. If you really want to hide a post mark it as "important you MUST read this first". Nobody will read it.3

As they stay put and aren't just one off alerts you do start ignoring them, and some have simply blocked them now. They have also Hidden the General discussion boards from Members/public1

It would have been better to highlight that particular notice in a different colour because yes, we do ignore it as the Coronavirus info is at the top of every board and you glaze over after a while.
It's only be a temporary measure, the board will re-open at some point.
Some people only exist as examples of what to avoid....0 -
What I don't get is site traffic has declined dramatically over the past few months (and continues to do so) yet they can't cope with the reduced traffic. How did they used to cope when it was really busy?2

Forums resources are currently , quite rightly , concentrated on the ever changing covid situation .
I'm assuming the parts of the forum that are closed generated the most complaints and time .Ex forum ambassador

Probably nowhere, as it could be really good or it could be really bad. Nobody can make even an informed guess as there are no precedents for the situation the world finds itself in right now.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

There was a member that used to post on it but then fell out with someone and I think it became too much for the forum team but as you say, locked with a post to say why would have been more polite than just removing it completely.
There was a lot of good reference points made on that thread and are now lost
