Apparently Brittany Ferries have cancelled one customers 'Voucher' and agreed to refund the amount paid to the credit card used to make the booking in five days.  This has come via a Facebook post and therefore I cannot verify if it is correct.  I have messaged BF via twitter to ask them to confirm this, however they haven't responded to my last 5 messages on there and their on line query submission forms take forever to get a response.  I will keep you posted.

    Thanks, sounds interesting.
It would be nice to see a copy of the letter/email where BF have agreed to refund.
Would be good to know how they persuaded BF to provide the refund.

I don't do Facebook, but I have been made aware of two Facebook groups that are now reporting full refunds rather than vouchers.  1. Brittany Ferries Refund Group (497 Members) & 2. Brittany Ferries Highway Robbery Cash For Vouchers Group (148 Members).  I'm still not receiving any responses to my question regarding the difference between a 'Voucher' and a 'Refund Credit Note' nor have they provided me with the Terms and Conditions attached to them.

Thanks R3dders, I also try and stay away from Facebook as much as possible but I'll take a look.
    All the best.

Some european governments are looking to overturn existing EU law. Until there's clarity from Brussels on the subject there's little that can be achieved.

That's fair enough if they want to change the laws covering future ticket sales.
I expect the same law to apply that was in force at the time when I booked and paid for my ticket.
What's the point having Laws and Terms & Conditions if they can be changed as and when people feel like it.

To stop the entire travel industry toppling over. Taxpayers elsewhere are going to have to foot the bill. There's no magic money pot.

Sorry, don't agree. It's not my fault and I shouldn't be out of pocket. I shouldn't be expected to help prop up a large company.

That seems to be our Governments approach, not forcing vouchers onto their customers.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

Going to be French taxpayers not you that props them up. Otherwise the downside is that the business will contract with a far smaller fleet in the future.
