Will the credit vouchers end up being lost with the government overruling consumer rights due to the cost of mass refunds? That is what I think will happen - no  evidence borders will reopen till a person can prove they vaccinated.

EU will be fine as nothing stopping any of us going to Spain or Italy until the end of this year (lack of flights and lockdowns aside, obviously)

In any case, there is no point in being so negative yet.

Through if people are still booking for July onwards for holidays that wont happen and might not be refunded - at least in full.

Thats the chance they take. But once lockdowns stop then flights will very quickly resume and we are still in the EU until the end of this year as far as border control is concerned so countries like Spain and Italy cant ban UK residents until January 1st if thats the line they want to go down (unlikely I suspect)

They could ban all hotels opening.

And counties can close the border for eu residents - Denmark and the Czech republic for example have both done so.

Do you really think that is going to last a year?

And there is no chance they are going to ban hotels opening for a year, you are aware how much that would cripple economies? A three week shutdown is bad enough for most places.
  • Denmark is just hinting about opening day childcare centres. Other countries are slowly opening non essential shops after Easter. Do you really think that airports are going to open anytime soon to shuffle people into metal tubes in the sky? I can't see mass international travel and tourism starting anytime before September (if that).

May I suggest you are being very negative then if you genuinely think hotels will be closed for a year. Good luck to you.

If some sort of travel, and other general economic activities, have not started again 1 year from now, then some lost money to a holiday company really will be the last problem anyone has.
