The UK's coronavirus lockdown continues, with all areas of life impacted. This week, we want to know how your WORK has been affected. The Government is allowing employers to furlough staff, and also has initiatives to help people in other employment categories. Please tell us below whether you’ve been able to access them.

Started a job with an agency begining of February on a 13week temp going permanent afterwards.Company has had to let all temp staff go to save money. but they want us back when it picks up again.Agency who have been paying wages have refused to pay or furlough me.. I have no income, and they will not do anything.
I have sent them the emails from Martin, but they refuse to furlough. I have had to apply for UC again.0 -
I was working for marks and spencer up until the end of march, due to leave for a job in the hospitality sector. They refused to extend my notice and put me on furlough, leaving me with no money coming in and no idea how im going to afford to pay my bills. Very disappointed to see such a big company in a position to help people just refusing to do so0

Employed, stood down (contractual agreements in place for stand down/stand up as needed by business on 100% pay) since 23rd March, initially until 20th April, including holiday week at Easter. Now furloughed at 100% for review in the future.0

Both my son and daughter work on zero hrs contracts at a local gym as lifeguards- my daughter, who is still at school works 'regular' hours (Thurs after school and Saturday) and has been furloughed. My son, who used to do the same, is now at uni so only works at the gym out of term time (he basically works full time in all the holidays and that funds him through uni). They have told him that because he doesnt do 'regular' hours, that they are not in a position to furlough him - they have said that although it will be the gov who pay the 80% of his wages, they have had no info as yet as to when they will be able to claim back this money from the gov, and that they have to pay it up front for the time being and this is where they are struggling because at this time they are in a difficult financial position. Is that right about firms having to front the cost at the mo until the gov money comes through? If my son doesnt get any income that's his uni funds out of the window!!!! Anyone know any more on this subject please? Thanks0

I’ve been furloughed, luckily on 100% pay, but only for one month. After that it’s likely to drop to the £2500 limit but I’m a higher tax bracket earner so it’s not going to 80% more like 60% take home. I know I’m lucky to have a well paying job but my mortgage, bills, council tax etc are also high. Hopefully this crisis will peak soon.0

I worked in a pub / restaurant in the Lake District, it will be 4 weeks this Friday since it had to close. My Boss Dave a lovely person furloughed all his staff, we are all now waiting for the 80% to start being paid.0

I work in the hospitality sector on a zero hour contract. As I was in the first group told to avoid contact (I have respiratory issues), I've been off since mid-March. My company has put me on SSP for the last 2 weeks of March and I will be furloughed at 80% of my pay after that. I'm really lucky that they are brilliant and do as much as they can for their staff. Unfortunately, it's a small firm and they had made a huge investment just before all this kicked off so they can't add the extra 20% but I am still very happy with the arrangement.0
