Hi everyone,
Firstly I just want to say thank you to everyone on this thread,

Now I wanted to save money and hopefully buy a property however with these on my credit file its going to be impossible to obtain a mortgage at a good rate.

  • I think you've answered your own question and I quote' with these on my credit file its going to be impossible to obtain a mortgage at a good rate' and unfortunately your right. If however (with the help of the parking forum) you are able to successfully get these CCJ,s removed from your credit file then you significantly increase your chances of being able to obtain a mortgage and depending on your other financial history maybe at a decent rate. I've got a mortgage at one of my property's at 0.98% so it is possible.

    Not great.

    But better if they're settled.

A few months ago maybe not a massive deal, now with an economic downturn in progress- I think you’d need to have an otherwise spotless credit history and very good affordability to be considered, I suspect many banks will just straight up decline

Your previous thread on the subject went on for pages - it was moved to the motoring/parking section. I don't know why you have started another!
  • I would say Impossible considering the current climate..

If you can’t pay your current commitments then why would anyone lend you any money?

Pay them, spend the next five years not paying anything late, and then try again.

OP I don't want to be rude but the chances of you getting a mortgage are absolutely 0 for the next 2-3 years or so. If you can't pay a car parking fine then how can you commit to 20+ years of mortgage payments?

As said before with 5 unstatisfied CCJ's in the last 12 months you have zero chance of getting a mortgage. You had zero chance before never mind right now with the tightened lending criteria from lenders.

You really need to tell your girlfriend about this situation instead of leading her down the garden path. As it stands you are not eligible for a mortgage and if she finds this out at a later date when your applications are being declined it will be much more difficult to explain then being upfront about the situation now.
