Booking a 2021 holiday
Comments

It’s only a package holiday in the Dominican Republic, it would be covered by abta etc.0
-
If it's a package holiday then I recommend that you book it direct with the travel operator rather than via a third party travel agent. It cuts out all the hassle of who you should contact for a refund should it be necessary.
So, for example if it's with TUI then book it through the TUI website.1 -
It is with TUI, I’ve checked other websites etc but they are all between £300 to £900 more expensive.0
-
Personally, I would go into a dark room and lie down until the feeling passed.0

No, I'm suggesting that given the current circumstances with peoples families passing away, people losing their jobs, people having to move house because they cant make the payments and people who maybe have spent £1000s on an up and coming holiday struggling to get a refund the least significant problem requiring advice is booking a holiday next year. Especially when it seems the main concern is if the price will go up or down.rothers said:
Are you seriously suggesting that everyone is so busy giving their opinion on more important things (in your opinion of course) that they wouldn’t have time to do so on this? You clearly had the time to post that reply so presumably, if you had chosen to, you would have had time to post something helpful too, otherwise you could have just ignored it.Retireby40 said:Book it if you want. Dont book it if you dont want. Make a judgement on opinion. Theres certainly more important issues where opinions are important. This isnt one of them. If, on the other hand, you are a moderator (which I assume that you’re not, I suspect you just like sticking your beak in) then I would apologise for breaking any rules that I’m not aware of. Until you tell me different I will withhold that apology.
What do you want people to do? Predict if we will be able to fly in February 2021? Predict if the cost of air travel will increase? Unfortunately nobody will know any different from you. So make your own judgement on that.0 -
How do you now you will be around to enjoy the holiday?rothers said:
Thanks for your reply, it’s really about getting to go where we want, when we want at a decent price which it appears to be.Thrugelmir said:Is there any particular urgency in having to book already?
Cheers
There are so many variables with the corona virus: financially and economically are the two biggest factors that one need to take into account post corona virus.
What people need to be thinking about is the effect on all of us post corona virus.
Does this mean we have to stop living our lives, of course not. But those who plan wisely will be the ones least affected financially.

To be honest, I myself am thinking that there won't be any holiday flights for a while, a long while
The world is in lockdown, its going to take months to come out of that, even China, with all their supposed good news, are not allowing foreigners into the country. I personally wouldn't be looking to book a holiday until a vaccine has been found
Thats my opinion, but you did ask for opinions1 -
I’m very grateful for that, thank you.suki1964 said:To be honest, I myself am thinking that there won't be any holiday flights for a while, a long while

Like I said, you could have chosen to ignore the post instead of preaching to others what they should and shouldn’t post.Retireby40 said:

I'm not preaching anything I'm merely suggesting that while the world is falling apart and theres some serious matters and decisions to be made surely you have the capacity to decide whether you will book a holiday for next year.rothers said:

Considering you know.
-your earnings
-your job situation
-your housing situation
- your health and your families potential health
- your general concern for the current state of the world.
Those are all things you know that we dont. If with that knowledge you cant decide whether you should book a holiday or not and you need a forum of strangers to guide you through the tough decision then I dont know.
