IKEA kitchen delivery delayed by 6 weeks! Any advice would be great, I'm desperate...

Hi
I went into IKEA Bristol a month ago to design and order my kitchen. I had delivery planned for in 2 days, I checked a few days ago with their online chat, they said it was all fine. Then today they email me saying my delivery has been delayed 6 weeks because of the coronavirus. I've tried to ask on their online chat, they are useless. I had tenants who wanted to move in at the start of June, but with the new delivery date that would be impossible. I also worry about them changing it at the last minute again.
I have been told I can cancel and get a refund. I was happy with the look and layout of the kitchen, but I'm wondering if I might be better in this situation to go with another company. It seems DIY kitchens are the best alternative, and they apparently are still delivering fine.
What do you think about DIY kitchens, would you say they are better than IKEA, I've been told they are more expensive. Any idea in % how much more expensive approximately?
Also, the woman in IKEA was super helpful with designing my kitchen, and it took hours. I don't know about doing that all again with DIY kitchens, and of course I dont get to see any of the cabinet fronts in person like I did with IKEA, so it feels like more of a gamble
Any advice or experiences with either company, or what you might do in this situation?
Thanks in advance

I do know that could take a while to get your refund back from Ikea. I think I would wait for the Ikea delivery. The tenants are very likely to wait for the property do be prepared for them. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.2

DIY's earliest dates for delivery are week commencing 18/5, so there is nothing to be gained time-wise by switching to them - unless IKEA push dates back again. DIY do send out sample doors, but they charge and the price is refunded against their return when the kitchen is delivered. You can transpose most of the IKEA units onto the DIY planner, though some sizes might not be compatible. They do an online plan check for you before delivery. https://planner.diy-kitchens.com/IKEA is still offering 30% off selected door and drawer fronts, if you've chosen one of those ranges, I expect the price is very competitive but I think their doors are usually thinner than DIY's.

I was half expecting a delivery delay, but not 6 weeks, and not the day before! I'd planned everything around it. But its crazy times currently0 -
How can Ikea know? AFAIK, their factories have closed down, and how can they possibly be sure when they'll reopen?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I thought that IKEA were still delivering but just not anything that would require a two person delivery."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

It's not just IKEA, I got the email below from B&Q on the 3rd, I'd been trying to get hold of them for days to verify delivery but they are currently impossible to contact. On the strength of their website saying deliveries continue as normal (it still does) I spent £3500 on new appliances and worktops etc the day before they cancelled.
They have closed down all means of communication and really left me in the lurch.0
