Of course people can post about whatever they wish just as others can comment on the total triviality and banality of the post/topic.

But there's no point in highlighting the "total triviality" of the thread when the thread's title begins "Totally trivial..."

It's sort of redundant and smacks of posting for posting's sake.

As so many thread authors say on here:  "If you've got nothing constructive/helpful/sympathetic to say..."    :)

Well, thanks Manxman for linking to this thread from one on Employment, you've cheered me up no end.

And FWIW I have also had this problem: we keep 'spare' loo rolls on an upright kitchen roll holder (not in the kitchen, obviously), and while any loo roll will fit on the holders my FIL made, I've got some I bought which have a 'top' over which thin loo rolls don't fit. Fortunately I can take the top off, in fact in one case it's split, and fallen off anyway and I cba to put it back on again.

But CostCo's own brand have the biggest middles I've come across. Not that they've had their own brand in stock on my last couple of visits, fortunately it takes a while to get through a full pack of their loo rolls when there's only two of you!

Well, there isn't a lot of point in starting a thread about such a trivial issue but that didn't stop you. Would you excuse a blatantly offensive post because it started "blatantly offensive"?

But why would I be offended by it?

Because of the shortage of toilet paper a couple of weeks ago, we had to buy a different brand from usual.

What I don't understand is that the diameter of the inner cardboard roll around which the toilet paper is wound, is significantly narrower than any roll I've bought before - to the extent that it doesn't fit our toilet roll holder.  What is this all about?  Surely the inner diameter of toilet rolls is standardised?  Why would you want a smaller diameter?  Do Tescos (for it is they) have a separate manufacturing run at the makers than everybody else?
Perhaps these from Amazon have larger diameter tubes?  Linky  Sorry could not resist.  >:)

It's never stopped you before on here. Can't see the issue myself.
